JAMUNA GROUP was established in 1974 & launched the operation of its flagship enterprise of Jamuna Electrical Mfg. Co. Ltd. for manufacturing of electrical accessories as pioneer in Bangladesh. Mr. M. Nurul Islam, being the Leader of the Group took up the challenges of bringing the necessary technology to the Bangladeshi companies, his spirit & untiring efforts with advance ideas along with committed service of his colleagues & staff, laid the foundation for successful future development. The second venture of the Group, Jamuna Electric & Engineering Industries Ltd. was established in 1978 for producing different types of ceiling & exhaust fans. And soon after in 1980, it stepped into the production of power & domestic cables, also conductors in another enterprise. The success of these companies gave the enough courage to the Group for moving ahead in other areas of manufacturing like Supper Enamel Copper Wires, Welding Electrodes, PVC Compound & pipes, Sport Shoes & footwear, Knitting & RMG, Processed Leathers, Industrial & Pharmaceutical Spirit and Cosmetics & Toiletries from 1981 to 1993. In 1996, Jamuna Group entered in to a new world of manufacturing "Textile Sector" by establishing "Shameem Spinning Mills Ltd." of 50000 spindles, and thereafter enhanced yarn manufacturing by series wise establishing "Shameem Composite Mills Ltd., Shameem Rotors Ltd., Jamuna Spinning Mills Ltd." having more than 200000 operative spindles, a most advance spinning premises with Japanese, German & Chinese Technical Collaboration by 2000. Mean while Jamuna Group also entered in to Real Estate business by starting the construction of modern shopping complex amusement park namely "Jamuna Future Park" would be the biggest shopping complex in Asia. The Group gave new rises to its textile sector by establishing 100% export oriented denim fabric composite unit in the name of "Jamuna Denims Ltd.", now vowing to value addition with its expansion of "Jamuna Denims Garments Ltd." The future vision of the Group is to diversify its cuter praises in the fields of Dress Materials in Textiles, Pharmaceuticals, Fertilizers, Paper industry, Electronics & Computers, etc. Jamuna Denims is going to start its denim garment unit from 15th October 2006. But every body has to know the jeans history earlier in this context, we narrated here the jeans back ground with our production capacity & machinery details.In the last half of 19th century, jeans become popular working attire for miners and cotton pickers. The strong material could with stand wear from the hard labour. In 1930's, cowboys began to use jeans for the hard work on the prairie. Among them, the greatest cow boy hero of all times "John Wayne" became the first jeans icon. We imported latest machines for 20 line project. We are going to start our production from 17th October 2006 (with 30000 basic 5-pocket jeans production capacity per day for 20 lines). Machines are as under: Juki (Japan),Kansai (Japan), V E Mac (Italy), Cad & Cam (Italy), Loader (Italy), Speeder (Italy) Washing (Taiwan), Dryer (Taiwan), Hydro (Taiwan), Sand Blasting (Taiwan), Brushing (Hong Kong), Embroidery (Japan), For denim fabric manufacturing, "Jamuna Denims Ltd" is using following machines: 1- Warping -- Benninger, Germany 2- Slasher Dyeing/sizing -- Benninger, Germany 3- Loom (Air Jet) -- Tsudakoma, Japan 4- Fabric Finishing -- SprottoRimar, Italy 5- Inspection M/C's -- AlE, Taiwan 6- Lab Equipments -- USA, UK & Germany 7- Water ETP -- Thermex, India
